Data Loss Prevention (DLP) - Customising Agent Communication

Hello,

In this article I'm going to show how to modify the default agent communication properties within Symantec Data Loss Prevention, this will allow the agent to communicate more or less often to the Detector.

1. Log into your DLP Enforce console.

2. Select System - Agents - Agent Configuration.

3. Select Edit on the far right hand side, highlighted on the above image.

4. Select Advanced Settings

5. Modify the below fields to either increase or decrease communication times between the DLP Agent and Detection server.

Note: If this is configured to communicate in real-time you may experience network latency or agent instability, please factor in risks when configuring these settings, for example: 10,000 endpoints communicating in real-time will result in congestion.
